- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Sarah M Manning -- Must Read : I grew up in Tuam Co.Galway and never knew what a profoundly shocking and sad chapter in Tuam’s history had unfolded so close to my Grandparents home on Athenry Road. I cannot imagine what the mothers and children endured who were forced to spend time in the Mother and Baby home and will never understand why children had to be buried in the unused septic system of this property instead of the cemetery across the road. God bless Catherine Corless for shining a light on this tragedy. The book is easy to read and beautifully written. Looking forward to seeing Liam Neeson’s movie of this story some day but most of all I hope to see those babies’ remains somehow reunited with their loved ones. This well written book clearly explains the steps she has taken and the continueing efforts she's making to see justice for children that would otherwise continue to be ignored by the government, and Catholic Church who were ultimately responsible for them. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from George -- everyone should read this book : I loved the total honesty of this book and Catherine’s personal journey. It really shows what one person can achieve and how they can change history for so many. It is heartbreaking but inspiring and she has given a voice and name to so many who have had none. I wholly recommend this book. Beautifully written from the heart. Even by the end of this journey I am not convinced Catherine truly recognises what an exceptional person she is. Her courage and that of all the survivors of the mother and baby homes is inspiring and I hope we as individuals in society can open our eyes to what injustices may be on our doorstep and act. Thank you Catherine and all the survivors. You have,I hope, helped Ireland to be better and awakened our citizens to a new understanding of human rights. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Annette -- An eye- opener of a book. : What an exceptional woman Catherine Corless is to do all this research to seek justice for the Tuam Babies. Years of meetings with survivors and their relations listening to their stories must have taken its toll on Catherine and Aidan. State and the Catholic Church doing what they always do, denying and coverup. This book of facts is years of getting doors slammed in your face and lots of red tape. Its not an easy read but history such as this is not meant to be an easy read. Well done Catherine for opening Pandora’s box and validating the victims pain.
